Happiness!

Introduction

While I was watching Code Geass: Lelouch of Rebellion, I was also watching this anime, Happiness! As I mentioned in my review of Code Geass, it was truly one of the best anime that I have ever seen. This anime, was not. While it was okay to watch, it did not provide enough to actually be considered good. The anime itself was very short yet they did not utilize every episode but filled most of them with fillers. That really made it a disappointment.

Review

Story

The theme of this anime is not unique at all as it has been done plenty of times before. Girl saves by guy when they were young but they never meet again yet girl is and has always been in love with guy. Sounds familiar? You bet it is. Of course, that does not mean it can't be made good because it certainly can. However, after getting that introduction out of the way, they did not really do anything else with it. It was lackluster and fails to captivate the audience until it is very much too late. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that this anime is short, I might not have finished watching it.

It did make up for it in the end however. If you are planning to watch this anime, you can just watch the first episode to get an intro into the story and then skip to the last few episodes and you should be fine. Heck, you might actually like this anime more because of that. I have already said it many times but I will repeat again, failing to get to the point in such a short anime is truly the downfall of this anime.

Making it also absolutely predictable was also a problem. Maybe it is just because I have watched too many animes of this kind, but I pretty much guessed (and guessed correctly) the ending of this anime after watching the first episode. Really, what is the point of watching something that you can so easily guess what will happen. Though I must admit, I didn't expect them to have so many fillers if that can count for anything.

Characters

Character development was also horrible. I don't think any of the characters was fully developed, not even the main character! There are other animes out there that doesn't fully develop all the characters but at the very least fully develop the main character but this anime fails to even do that. I don't feel any kind of attachment or relate to any of the characters what so ever.

Animation

Being relatively new, the animation was good. The characters were well drawn and most looks very appealing to the eye. I guess even this anime couldn't mess this part up since it is just using the standards we are so frequent to seeing nowadays.

Sound

In terms of the opening and ending themes, both were not any special either. Actually, I find the opening theme to be kind of annoying. The ending theme was okay but not great either. There isn't really any background music that I can really of so it is safe to say there wasn't anything interesting either.

Conclusion

Overall, this anime was somewhat of a disappointment. It is too easy to figure out what will happen and they didn't even try to make it any thing good. Being short as it is, they waste a lot of the episodes showing useless and irrelevant information. My advice, just stay away.

Download

I will look for downloads when I have the time though I doubt there is much of anything worth putting on here.
