DL Suite: EditArea

Introduction

DL Suite: EditArea allows you to edit content on your site using a syntax editor. This is much like a WYSIWYG editor except that it only add highlights to the syntax. This makes editing much easier when your are editing source code.

Features

As with all of my modules, I try to make them as flexible as possible. So too with this module. The majority of the settings allowable by EditArea, you can modify with this module.

Like DL Suite: CodePress, this module can also guess what the default language should be when you are modifying content on the backend of your site. Again, this just uses the page name to make the guess so donnot expect it to get it right all of the time.

You should also feel secure that your information would not be lost when you are submitting with this editor either. If there is a problem loading the editor, a JavaScript alert will let you know that you should not be using the editor (note that if you have JavaScript turned off, then you would not get this alert). That in combination with the ability to use the Apply button (something the other EditArea module does not have) makes this a much safer and better alternative to use.

I must say that since the development of the CodePress editor has pretty much stopped (and for awhile there, it seems the same could be said about EditArea), EditArea is still alive and continued to be developed. Its stability is better than CodePress in my opinion and certainly offer some great benefits so be sure to switch to this editor if you can.
